چکیده
The ground in Saemangeum has a high water level and is mostly composed of silty soil sand, which makes it susceptible to liquefaction seepage effects. To investigate the seismic response geotextile tube-reinforced embankment shallow foundations laid on liquefiable soil, simple spring type shaking table apparatus was developed. variation acceleration shear stress-strain relationship were investigated, effect improvement reinforcement explored, wherein one coarse sand layer reinforced by polyester geotextile. results showed that main cause damage seepage-induced liquefaction. Excessive surface accelerations observed due lateral spreading, indicating importance analyzing potential soils not only at site area but also near embankments. Lastly, inclusion resulted slight reduction foundation settlement.

A Numerical Evaluation of Seismic Response of Shallow Soil Deposits
This paper employs one-dimensional numerical ground response analysis models to investigate seismic response of shallow cohesive and non-cohesive soil deposits on vertical propagation of horizontal shear waves. Soil response is modelled by traditional equivalent-linear (EL) frequency-domain analysis using DEEPSOIL software and nonlinear (NL) time-domain analysis using OPENSEES software. The ana...
متن کاملVariables Characteristics Effects on Static and Pseudo-Static Reliability-Based Design of near Slope Shallow Foundations
Given the concept of reliability-based design (RBD) and the growing risk management trend in geotechnical engineering, proper understanding and quantification of uncertainties are very important. The complexity of methods and a large volume of calculations of probabilistic design methods are the most critical reasons for civil engineers not to be comfortable using these approaches. In this rese...
متن کاملEnhancement of Engineering Characteristics of Soil Using Jute Geotextile
Natural fibres such as jute were the forerunners of the man-made fibres used for centuries for making ropes and formanufacturing burlaps, sacks, hessian and carpet backing. But the use of jute products in civil engineering is relativelywidespread for such purposes as sand-bags for concrete curing, soil enrichment and protection. This research is concerned with the stabilization of fine sand usi...
متن کاملField Performance of Geotextile Reinforced Sludge Caps
Geosynthetic reinforced capping of highwater content waste materials is becoming an efficient and economic way of dealing with the confinement of the contaminants. To define the filtration performance of sludge-geotextile systems and investigate their durability, ten sludge lagoon test cells were constructed using of a lightweight fill, i.e. a wood chip/soil mixture over different geotextiles. ...
